ANGLE's yarn-dyed fabric trunks are loved by many people for their high-quality materials, careful stitching, and sophisticated design. This time, we will explore their appeal through the voices of actual users.
We spoke to a male employee in his 50s who has been in the apparel industry for nearly 30 years and is currently involved in product planning, sales, and even overseas expansion at our company. He said that he had recently rediscovered the goodness of "trunks" for the first time in a long time.
Today, I will be interviewing someone who loves trunks.
-- You haven't always been a trunks fan, but you've recently started wearing them again. What prompted you to start wearing them?
Even though I work for an underwear manufacturer, I've always been a fan of boxers because I've always thought of trunks as old-fashioned underwear.
When I was a child, I used to wear the white briefs my parents bought me without any hesitation.
When I entered high school and started to get interested in fashion, my friends started wearing trunks, and from then on I wore trunks all the time until I was in my 20s. I'm sure people my age wore trunks in the same way.
From then on, boxer shorts became the standard, and until recently I too was following the trend and became a boxer fan. Due to my work, I had the opportunity to wear woven trunks for the first time in a long time, and as I wore them, I was struck by how comfortable they were, and realized that I hadn't really thought that seriously about the "comfort" of pants.
Normally, when I wear an inner top, I consider how comfortable it is, but I don't really put much emphasis on choosing boxers or trunks. After trying out a variety of pants, I found that trunks were surprisingly the most comfortable.

--You've noticed how comfortable trunks are, but what criteria do you use to choose trunks?
Of course, the fabric and silhouette are important, but the pattern is also one of the criteria for selection.
This may seem like a slightly technical perspective, but it can make a big difference in comfort and design.
For example, basic trunks are generally seen with three "seams" (the number of pieces of fabric joined together), but if there are fewer seams, they will not have a three-dimensional appearance, so many trunks use more fabric to cover this.
4. With five pieces of fabric sewn together, it is easier to create a three-dimensional structure that fits the body. After all, a three-dimensional structure feels more comfortable to wear.
As I started choosing my own trunks and came across many different types through work, I started to consider fabric, silhouette, stitching, and pattern as criteria for my selection, and I feel like I've come to realize the true value of ANGLE trunks.
--I heard you have a favorite pair of trunks. Could you tell us about them?

last I love the trunks that were only available for a limited time this season, and I wear them a lot. I love them so much that I regret they can't be produced in larger quantities.
The fabric is textured and fairly thick, and although I often wear regular shirts, I'm drawn to trunks with fabric designs similar to those used for shirts. I tend to choose simple items because they're not visible to others, but with trunks, I enjoy the feeling of choosing an inner layer while also choosing a top shirt.
Of course, I wear it often, but one of its charms is that it retains its shape even after repeated washing.
